The cottontail rabbit is one of the target animals for Shake Away’sselling product, fox urine granules (also great for deterring groundhogs and possums). This product takes advantage of the predator-prey relationship and the prey animals' genetically programmed instinct of fear to provide a non-toxic, organic method to reduce and often eliminate pest browsing problems. The red fox is the most common, land-based predator of cottontail rabbits throughout its range. Rabbits avoid foxes' core areas when setting up their patterns to feed and raise their young.
