Micronutrients are essential dietary elements that the body can’t produce (enough) of on its own. This is why we have to meet our micronutrient demand by consuming them through food. Micronutrients include vitamins like vitamin B12, B9 or D. In contrast to macronutrients (like fat, carbohydrates, or proteins) they are no source for energy but play other important roles for our body functions, for example in the metabolism. Deficiencies or excess of certain micronutrients can lead to various complaints, which is why it can be helpful to monitor your micronutrient levels. In addition to the 3 vitamin B12, B9 and D, our test also includes the general health markers HbA1c (long term blood sugar) and Total Cholesterol, to give you an even broader picture of your overall health.
