- Tetrahydromagnolol is one of the primary metabolites of magnolol, which is a highly bioactive lignan found in the bark of Magnolia officinalis. When magnolol is taken orally, it becomes metabolized by various enzyme systems, which then yields tetrahydromagnolol as one of the primary metabolites.
