Dynarex’s DynaGinate is a combination of calcium alginate and silver ions that transforms into a soothing gel-like covering upon contact with wound exudate, creating an optimal healing environment. As the dressing absorbs exudate, the silver ions treat the infection locally and stop its spread. The calcium alginate dressing side has high absorbency for moderately to heavily exuding wounds to promote healing. Then, the silver alginate side reacts with the wound exudate, attaches to the infected area, and helps with the treatment.
These dressings made of calcium alginate with silver ions are used as primary dressings and are suitable for infected wounds or those at risk of infection such as bedridden patients, diabetics, or patients with chronic venous insufficiency at wound stages 3 and 4.
The gel-like surface also keeps the dressing from adhering to the wound for painless removal. Available in three convenient sizes: 2”x2”, 4”x 5” and 4”x8” pads for covering, or as a ¾”x12” size strip for packing.
