Chinese Goldthread (Coptis Chinensis) is a low-growing plant that is indigenous to the mountainous regions of China. A perennial stemless herb, 20–50 cm high. The leaves are basal, long petiolate. The rhizome is shaped like a cockspur, has a brownish yellow color. It is densely covered with numerous nodes.
